Areas of Focus
Living With Loss
Find Hope in Dark Days
Experiencing a major loss turns our lives upside down. Cancer strikes, a business fails, a spouse files for divorce, a loved one dies. Loss is an inevitable part of our lives yet it is very often unexpected and difficult to navigate.
We at Next Chapter desire to provide a safe, accepting place to grieve in the face of a major loss. As fellow travelers who have personal experience with loss, we have compassion for this difficult chapter of life. Although we offer no quick answers to this chapter of pain, we desire to walk with you through the grieving process and help you find a voice to express yourself, leading to comfort and hope.
We will walk with you through the following questions among others:
- How do I grieve through the mess and confusion?
- How do I deal with the pain of loneliness?
- Where is God in all of this?
- Will it ever get better?
- Where do I go from here?
Join us to consider how to reach out to God and others in a time of sorrow and grief.
Personal and Relational Growth
Growing to Love Well
Our culture has so many distractions, keeping us preoccupied with activities without encouraging personal reflection. Amid the clamor of daily responsibilities, we sometimes wonder how to integrate our God-given identity with our daily lives.
Ministry Renewal
Inspiration for Leadership
Christian ministry is a high calling and also a draining one. Those of you in full time ministry know this well. It is often those of us in Christian leadership who are in need of a place to pause and a space to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re going. Burn out and disillusionment is an ever increasing reality among those called to lead in Christian ministry.

Career & Retirement Transition
What’s Next?
Major transitions of any kind will add stress to our lives. Changes in career, especially movement toward semi or full retirement introduce a variety of transitions…and this can mean feelings of frustration, anxiety, isolation and depression. Shifting focus from a life–long career can lead to a personal sense of loss and additional pressures on our family relationships.
